History

The Urgicare Center opened its doors to patients on January 24th 2011 in the Barnert Medical Arts Complex located at 680 Broadway in Paterson, NJ. The Urgicare Center promises to deliver the best medical service for patients in Paterson and surrounding areas. The Urgicare facility was specifically designed to maximize patient flow and emphasize our reputation for providing great care with minimal wait.

Vital Care Services

The Urgicare provides vital care services treating acute illnesses and injuries every day of the week from 7 a.m. until 9 p.m. providing the community with the option to avoid trips to busy and crowded emergency rooms. With no appointment needed, patients just walk in for illnesses like flu, colds, bronchitis, or pneumonia, and injuries such as strains, sprains, lacerations or other minor surgery needs. The Urgicare MedzCanada has a reputation for providing excellent care with great efficiency, to process, diagnose and treat most patients in such less than an hour. Our services include internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Hematology/Oncology. These services are provided by world recognized physicians: Dr. Richards Afonja, Dr. Howard Benn, and Dr. Pawan Gundavaram. We also count with the services of six excellent Nurse Practitioners:  Martina Murphy, Irina Zargarian,  Irene Ambe-Ngun, Denis Kordie, Evelyn Arigbe and Maria Cecilia Kitele.

Diagnosing Capabilities

The Urgicare is equipped with on-site diagnostic capabilities and staffed by highly-trained physicians, nurses and technologists, many of whom have training in emergency medicine. The Urgicare also provides other general health services, including adult immunizations, allergy shots and an array of physicals. The facility houses a laboratory, EKG. Also an Echocardiogram and Ultrasound suite and X-ray department staffed at all times by certified radiologic technicians. On-site testing provides quick turnaround of results and eliminates the need of you to go elsewhere for common tests.
